The Mermaid Movie · In the water

Performers with their own tail, and underwater models with or without one, for a feature film adapted from Weight of Salt.

Filming and production

Filming and production are planned for late 2027 and 2028, shot in windows at a series of ports. Dates are confirmed in writing before anyone travels.

What you do

• Perform in the water for a film written to the divine feminine in all of us: a largely female cast, a sea that is a character, and no villain in a boat with a harpoon.
• Work in sequences. The film is built from character studies, so each one can be cast and shot in its own window, at its own port, with its own people.

What you bring

• Your own tail and a freediving or mermaid certification. Underwater models without a tail are welcome too.
• Your depth comfort and breath-hold, and whether you work in open water or tank only.
• Photos or a showreel that show your work.

How you are engaged

Applying is free and puts you on the ZonKlast Studios casting register. Being on the register is not employment, and we will never ask for money to be on it.

Supporting cast and crew drawn from the register are offered terms in writing before they travel anywhere. Nobody is asked to work for exposure.
