Safety Divers and Underwater Camera
The Mermaid Movie · In the water
The people who keep a mermaid shoot safe and get it on camera: divemasters, instructors, safety divers and underwater camera operators.
Filming and production
Filming and production are planned for late 2027 and 2028, shot in windows at a series of ports. Dates are confirmed in writing before anyone travels.
What you do
- Keep performers safe during breath-hold work in open water.
- Shoot and light underwater, if that is your craft.
- Be comfortable in the background of every underwater shot.
What you bring
- Your agency, level and number of logged dives.
- Any current rescue or first aid certification.
- Your camera kit and credits, if you shoot.
How you are engaged
Applying is free and puts you on the ZonKlast Studios casting register. Being on the register is not employment, and we will never ask for money to be on it.
Supporting cast and crew drawn from the register are offered terms in writing before they travel anywhere. Nobody is asked to work for exposure.
Divemasters and crew are hired at each port on local terms and paid as crew.
Who can apply: 18 and over. Casting is open now.
